Hail Damage Roof Repair and Gutters
Repairing Your Siding
The impact of storm damage to your siding depends on both hail size and wind speed. Wind-driven hail can crack vinyl siding and chip paint on metal, wood, and fiber cement products, compromising both appearance and performance. These surface issues may seem cosmetic but can expose your siding to moisture, leading to premature deterioration. A Storm Damage Assessment is essential after severe weather to identify hidden vulnerabilities and prevent long-term issues.
Repairing Your Windows
Storm damage can compromise not only the appearance of your windows but also their energy efficiency and overall performance. First Impressions Exteriors offers high-quality replacement windows that enhance comfort, boost efficiency, and elevate your home’s curb appeal. We proudly partner with trusted brands like Andersen, Pella, Marvin, and Hayfield to ensure long-lasting results. Our expert installers will help you select the right windows for your home’s specific needs, and we’ll work directly with your insurance provider to keep the process simple.

Our Insurance Restoration Process
Navigating storm damage doesn’t have to be overwhelming. At First Impressions Exteriors, we guide you through every step with clarity, confidence, and care. Here’s what you can expect:
We begin with a thorough, no-obligation inspection of your property, using drone technology when needed, to identify any signs of storm damage. After the inspection, we walk you through our findings in detail, using photos and documentation to clearly explain what we see. If damage is present, we’ll discuss next steps and whether filing an insurance claim is the right move.
We advocate for you by meeting with your insurance adjuster on-site during their inspection to ensure that every aspect of the damage, visible and hidden, gets properly identified, documented, and valued. Our team’s expertise ensures that no issue is overlooked, from roofing to siding, gutters, windows, and other affected areas. We make sure the adjuster has a comprehensive understanding of the full extent of the damage and scope of repairs, which helps streamline the claims process and ensures that you receive the coverage you deserve.
If any damage is overlooked or missed on the initial insurance paperwork, we can assist you in identifying it and work collaboratively with the adjuster to ensure all damaged items are fully accounted for, helping to ensure a fair and accurate settlement.
One thing that shapes your settlement before any work starts is how your policy pays: replacement cost value, actual cash value, or a roof payment schedule. We explain all three in RCV vs. ACV vs. Roof Payment Schedules: What Twin Cities Homeowners Need to Know in 2026.
Once your insurance paperwork is issued, we take the time to carefully review it with you, ensuring you fully understand the scope of coverage, any potential out-of-pocket costs, and the details of your claim. After the review, we assist you in selecting the best materials for your project, considering both your preferences and the durability of the products. We then conduct a comprehensive pre-construction meeting where we outline every step of the process, from the scheduling of work to the timeline and expectations, so you know exactly what to expect before construction begins. Our goal is to make sure you feel confident and informed throughout every stage of the restoration.
Our expert crews start the project using top-tier materials and time-tested techniques to ensure superior craftsmanship. Your Project Manager will oversee the process, ensuring everything stays on track and you’re kept informed. Once the work is completed, we perform a comprehensive final cleanup, leaving your property spotless and ready for you to enjoy.
We’ll conduct a final walkthrough to ensure the work meets both our high standards and your expectations. Once the inspection is complete, we handle all invoicing directly with your insurance company before sending you a final invoice. Your satisfaction and peace of mind are our top priorities, and we’re here to make the entire process seamless from start to finish.

Will insurance cover my hail-damaged roof?
If a storm caused the damage, most homeowner policies cover it. We document the roof, siding, gutters and soft metals so the claim rests on evidence, not opinion. You will know exactly what we found before you decide to file.
Should I call a roofer or my insurance company first?
Call a roofer first. A documented inspection tells you whether the damage justifies a claim, so you do not file over a repair smaller than your deductible. If the evidence supports a claim, we meet your adjuster on site.
How do I know if my roof has hail damage?
From the ground, you usually cannot tell. Hail leaves small bruises in shingles, dents in vents, gutters and downspouts, and marks on siding that take a trained eye to spot. We photograph everything and walk you through what we find.
How long do I have to file a hail claim in Minnesota?
Every policy sets its own deadline, and many require notice within a year of the storm. The safe move is simple: get the inspection and report damage as soon as you know about it.
What if my insurance denies the claim?
A denial is not the end. We have won full replacements after initial denials by documenting the loss properly, including claims where the insurance company sent its own engineer. Evidence changes outcomes.
Storms are documented events. The National Weather Service recorded widespread hail and wind damage across east-central Minnesota and western Wisconsin on June 19, 2026, with hail over 2 inches in northern St. Paul and ping-pong size hail in Eau Claire County. Read the NWS storm report.
